Back in the Game!

With nearly two weeks on the sideline my back finally snapped out of it and I finally have my spring back in my leg! Life was very hard being here not being able to do what I am here for. Lets just say I was a little homesick. Especially during the hunting season! We played our first game of the season on Saturday and walked away with the W! I played ok just need to get back inshape now! So unfortunatlely our jersey numbers only go up to 15, so I chose to be #14. It was a just a crazy coinsidence that for the pre season they handed me #22 to wear.

Small world! A friend of mine, Casey Robinson, from Manila plays in Leverkaussin, which is located 45 minutes from Herne. Who would have thought a few 1A bball players from Utah would be ballin in Germany so close to each other! Yesterday it was Germanys 4th of July haha or when they claimed indipendenc. Considering Casey and I both had the day off we decided we should get together and do something. He brought his American teammate Jack and I brought my German teammates Pia and Luisa, and we planned a day at a ropes course called tree2tree. Well so did every other German on this holiday! It was so busy we changed our plans and grabbed lunch at a cute lil American diner instead. Well I already know I am not the best speller, so its very unfotunate that my computer wants to spellcheck everything for German and not English sooo don't criticize me!

Halie and Britta one of my roommates!

Crazy coinsidence!
So weird to be 14!

hmmm...

This last week has been up and down. My friend Nik Gumeson who plays baseball in Holland finished his season and  hoppoed on a train to Herne! We had a good time catching up and experiencing the German ways. We grabbed a brotworsht downtown and went out one evening to the bremuda triangle with Pia and Inga Kassack. Inga is Pia's sister and her boy friend Toby plays handball. I had never seen or played hand ball so they took me to experience one of his games. I have to say I'm not the biggest fan, but it is a very popular sport in Europe.
Pre season is almost over and I am sad to say I am on the sideline with a back injury right now. I have been going to therapy and doing all I can to get back. The season starts October first so wish me luck!

Amsterdam

Puck, Pia, Britt, Halie, Nik, Mark

My friends Nik Gummison and Mark Moormon live and play baseball in the Hoofddorp Netherlands, which happens to be 10 minutes from Amsterdam! Nik and Mark both played at the University of Utah and Mark is originally from Holland! Marks girl friend, Puck, lives and goes to school in Amsterdam! With our two day weekend me, my teammates Pia, Minja, and Brittany decided to get our European tour on! We weren't able to watch one of there baseball game do to the weather. It's always raining but thank goodness we are tough woman and it didn't effect our desire to see Amsterdam. The shopping is amazing as it is everywhere in Europe! We also discovered Gay street and unfortunately the red district. So much to see in so lil time but the city is beautiful and crooked! I will go back to see more!
Yes people live in those!

Poland

Ugh Szczyrk Poland... One week of  hell at an Olympic training resort. 30 min Run, breakfast, death run/stairs, lunch, bball practice, weights, dinner, and sometimes another bball practice! That was the hardest week of training I have ever been through, but I survived! My team is awesome they are all very welcoming! My head coach, Marek, is from Poland. He is really the only one who doesn't speak english so we get a long great ;)!! The others translate to the other American, Brittany Davis, and me.  As you can see one evening they took us to Krakow for a lil touring. We tried our hardest to enjoy it with out feeling our legs! We arrived back in Germany on Sunday evening thank goodness! We practice once a day now and I can finally get a little more settled.
